What is Kill Button?

The kill button is used in the game of Poker. It’s a button that the dealer puts on the table when a kill happens, in order to make the new limits clear to all players throughout the session. The kill is set up once a specific situation is met by a player; for instance, two successive wins. The player who sets off the kill will then be required to put a specific sum into the pot, this can be twice as large as the big blind in a ‘full kill’ game or half the big blind in a ‘half kill’ game. The sum put into the pot and the prerequisites for the kill depend on the betting guidelines of each individual game.

Kill Button Explained

The kill button is most useful during a game of Poker, in physical betting or gambling establishments. This can be used by the dealer to demonstrate necessary changes in the game, just as is the case with all buttons.
The dealer would typically keep the kill button on his plate until the kill was made. Some buttons have ‘no kill’ on the underside that can be shown in the limited game until the kill is used. On the other hand, the underside of the kill button might read ‘leg up’ which would apply to a player who needs to win the following hand to enable the kill, followed by doubling the big blind in the pot.

On the off-chance that the player wins as required, the dealer will flip the buttons with the goal that the side stating the kill, will show. The kill button is typically connected to the most responsible player, however certain situations are unbiased, for example in the first hand of the game.

Poker has become an increasingly popular game all over the world, and if you are one the many who are becoming hooked on this game, there are a lot of things you must learn. Your knowledge of the ‘kill button’ will allow you to come up with more effective game strategies to ensure a winning game. If you know what the kill button is, you can play Poker easier and with more confidence.
