What Is Body Talk?

Body Talk refers to a non-verbal way of conveying a message to someone. If used in games, they are the visual cues acted by a player (usually done in card games). This gives observers an idea of what card is likely to appear in the player’s hand. It is shown in various ways, for example at times some people would make certain facial expressions. Or they would be giving out hand gestures or another form of movement especially if they have a very bad or good set of cards. It is important to be observant of these movements as you will be able to predict a player’s next move or to deal a better card.
It is possible that after observing the hand gestures or facial expression for a few games, you can already formulate the possible outcome. Thus, it’s giving you the upper hand and more chances of winning in the game.

Body Talk Explained

Some people are not good at hiding their real emotions. There are some who shows how they truly feel through their physical movement. In some cases, these movements are done, unconsciously (a person may be showing involuntary movement such as biting their lips, or eye twitching happens when a person is stressed). Even without saying anything, their emotions are commonly shown on their faces
This is the reason why being observant helps especially during card games. You need to find out what those certain movements signify to tell what that person truly feels. This will help you guess what cards those players might be holding. These visual cues that are unconsciously done by players are known as body talk.
Even if that person gives out that “poker face” (a person’s ability to not show their emotions through facial expression, or gives out a blank expression), you will still be able to know what he is thinking. You need to be mindful of other movements that person is showing even with their expressionless face is on. Watch for movements such as the twitching of facial muscles or the movement of the eyes, looking down and then left; people having to deal with bad cards tend to express this. This is the clue that shows you with the current state of mind of that person.
Body talk isn’t a foolproof method to easily identify if that person holds a good or bad card. But body talk practitioners who are experienced in this field can argue that to be skilled in body talk can be an edge when you are at a card table. This skill is not applicable to use for other games like in online gaming.
