Over the past two days, the group phase of the Rocket League Championship Series Season 7 Finals has taken place at the Prudential Center in New Jersey. We have seen breathtaking art on the ball in several matches with the twelve best teams in the world.
Late last Saturday evening, the group stage came to an end with the final games, which decided which eight teams we will see in the playoffs and finals this Sunday.

Day 2 in the repetition
If you didn’t make it to the second tournament day on Saturday, you should watch the repeat on the official Rocket League Twitch channel.
The playoffs on Sunday
The boldly marked teams in the group results overview have made it into the playoffs and will play today, Sunday, starting with the quarter-finals, to make it to the Grand Final and finally to the highly coveted title, which this year will also be awarded with prize money of 200,000 US dollars. You can read the complete distribution of the prize pool HERE.
In the quarter-finals, the real top teams of the whole Rocket League world will meet in 2019. Every single duel is full of suspense, and the nerves of the players should also be tense to the breaking point. The same goes for the suspense of the fans, who can look forward to hopefully many spectacular series. These we have in the following for you in the next overview.
1st NRG Esports – Renault Vitality
The first from group A against the second from group B. While NRG won both series against PSG and INTZ so far, Renault Vitality had a 1 to 3 draw against G2. The winner of this duel will face the winner of the second quarter-final, Cloud9 against FC Barcelona, in the semi-final.
2nd Cloud9 – FC Barcelona
What a duel. Nobody could have complained if we had seen this pairing at a later stage of the tournament. But now the two teams are already in the round of the best 8. Barcelona let Rogue take the butter off their shoulders a bit surprisingly, while Cloud9 has only given up a single match against Triple Trouble so far.
3rd G2 Esports – PSG Esports
The next firecracker is a European one. While PSG could only take 2nd place in the difficult Group A, G2 Esports played big on Saturday and won his two series in Group B against Renault Vitality and Ground Zero Gaming with 3 to 1 each. We can be curious which of the teams can compete with the winner of the pairing Rogue against Triple Trouble in the semi-final.
4th Rogue – Triple Trouble
The only quarter-final with a clear favourite? I don’t think so. Triple Trouble also showed in the supposedly slightly easier Group D what their battle cars are made of. That seems to be quite robust, and the technicians did a great job as well. Cloud9 they already lost one game in the series, Lowkey Esports didn’t leave a chance and finished with 3 to 0. We’ll soon see if this impresses the undefeated Rogue players around ‘Kronovi’ and Co.
Semifinals and finals
The four best Rocket League teams in the world meet according to the following principle:
A: NRG Esports – Renault Vitality VS. Cloud9 – FC Barcelona
B: G2 Esports – PSG Esports VS. Rogue – Triple Trouble
In the grand finale on Sunday evening, the winner of the A duels will play against the winner of the B duels. What has already been decided: We will celebrate a worthy Rocket League World Champion 2019!
About Rocket League
Cars and soccer? A combination that actually can’t get bad at all. According to this motto, developer Psyonix has created a title that has internalized the slogan “Easy to learn, hard to master” 100 per cent. As the successor to the game “Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle Cars” (SARPBC), probably the longest game title in the world, Rocket League has made it into the hearts of eSport fans.
